Public Storage at the Orleans Soap Box Derby
They say that a picture is worth a thousand words; I think a picture is worth only the emotion it shares! The image above is of Tim Tierney, the winner of the Counsellor’s Cup at the Orleans Soap Box Derby.
Public Storage Ottawa is proud to be a sponsor and participant of this local event, not only for great shots like the one above, but also for the interaction and support of our local community!
I’m proud to say that I attended this year’s event: the thousands of locals, supporters and participants whom I saw here were smiling, having fun, and connecting in a positive and community-based way that also supports local children-oriented charities.
I had the opportunity to spend time with all the kids and their parents at the face painting booth!
Our Public Storage-sponsored “kiddy ramp” was also a great hit, being an area dedicated for the children who’re too young for the main race…
At intermission, everyone made their way to the hotdogs and drinks. I shared a few laughs (and some ketchup) with a couple friendly faces.
And by the end of the day, I met back up with Carlos Conde and his wife, Christine Villeneuve, to help announce and give out trophies to the racers, to the winners, and to the top category for best effort.
But as our name may suggest, who are the real winners…?
The public!
With events like OSBD, the support of local business, and the participation of the community, we’re all winners!
Signed,
Public Storage Ottawa
