When you think of Gatineau, does boating come to mind? Being situated right on the Ottawa river, this city in the National Capital Region has been host to boaters and watercraft since at least 1890. This is when the Aylmer Boating Club was created, officially establishing the sport in the region until its facilities burned down in 1921.
